warriors no more

Have you ever noticed that retired generals that support John Kerry criticize the war in Iraq? I mean they have criticized the entire war effort. I get the feeling that they are getting negative on their entire careers as leaders in the armed forces. They are telling me that all the time, effort, and money to train them has gone up in a smoke plume. They don't want to remember what they have experienced and what they have been taught. This doesn't make sense to me. Why should they get so negative on a strategy that they helped to create?

Another beheading

Another hostage has been beheaded. The al-Zarqawi led group claimed another victim according to an Islamic website. This could not be completely confirmed. That makes two victims who have been executed. The announcement came as American tanks attacked the Sadr City slum, killing 10.

Clash of Cultures

Is the war in Iraq really a clash between the western civilization and Islam? As much as we might want to say no...it just might be. The fact is that terrorism has done much to damage the Islamic community. Our focus is to stop terrorists before they strike. Has our mission been one that does not focus on Islam as a whole? Perhaps. Should our mission against terrorism bring in all or most of the Islamic influences that exist?

I can only speculate that the fight against terrorism is a fight against a culture...if not the entire culture, parts of it. I can only conclude that we need more operatives in the field rooting out the terrorists. In this fashion we can then study perhaps the "cultural cause" of terrorism.

Terrorism

Will non-combatants in the war on terror be the next targets of terrorists organizations? If so.... will the United States get more help in this fight?
